How to Use This Book: The Fact First, Then the Comfort

This book is written for you, the busy father who wants to understand what is happening without reading two hundred pages. Every idea is given twice: The Fact explains what is happening and names its source, then In Plain Words tells you what you will see with your own eyes and what to do in that moment. Do not read it all in one night. At each age, open the matching topic. If you are between checkups or something changes suddenly, turn to the relevant appendix. Remember that this guide is for information only and is not a substitute for your pediatrician. When in doubt, ask the doctor.
